Monitoring of aquatic ecosystems with next generation sequencing
The main focus of the project of Julia Nuy is the monitoring of freshwater ecosystems. To monitor these systems, a lot of routine monitoring approaches have been established to assess WRRL based parameters such as the trophic state of freshwaters. What potential lies, yet, in Next Generation sequencing methods? Based on this main question, Julia investigates which information microorganisms "contain" and if and in which way this information may be relevant for a molecular environmental monitoring.
